The Aeroflot group made a loss of RUB 3.563 billion (USD 72.2 million) in the period of January-September, based on the International Financial Reporting Standards. It made a net profit of RUB 17.237 billion the previous year, the press service of the group announced.

Its revenues amounted to RUB 202.174 billion (USD 4.1 billion) or 6.1% more than its revenues in in the first nine months of last year.

Its operating expenses increased by 14.1% to RUB 223.036 billion (USD 4.5 billion) compared with January-September 2013.

The group’s total debt increased by 41.5% to RUB 122.498 billion (USD 2.483 billion), mainly due to increase of its obligations under financial lease contracts denominated in foreign currency as a result of changes in the exchange rates of the ruble against the dollar and the euro.

The Aeroflot aviation group is the largest in Russia. It is part of the SkyTeam international alliance. The group transported 31.4 million passengers in 2013.
