The number of flights between Paris and Kiev has reduced practically three-fold because of a strike by the Air France airlines’ pilots, which has already lasted three days, the Ukrinfrom news agency reports.

"Of the three daily Paris-Kiev flights, Air France is currently ready to provide only one from Tuesday to Thursday," said a representative of the airline.

In total, Air France has canceled 60% of its flights. The situation is different at different airports. For example, 60% of Air France’s flights from the Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, 50% of its flights from the Paris Orly Airport, all its flights from Toulouse and Lille, 90%of its flights from Nice and Marseille, and more than 60% of its flights from Lyon have been canceled.

Air France’s management says that 60% of its pilots are on strike and information from trade unions states that 75% of the airline’s flight personnel are on strike.

The strike is expected to last until September 22. Pilots are unhappy with the Perform 2020 plan for development of the airline, which provides for expansion of its low-cost unit, which may adversely affect the incomes of the airline’s workers. This strike is the largest in France in 15 years.
