Polish citizen Paweł Jarczewski has been appointed as the head of the Production Facilitation Center, which is responsible for public procurements at the Ukrzaliznytsia public joint-stock company. Ukrzaliznytsia’s head Wojciech Balczun announced this on his Facebook page.

"The first fundamental, pivotal decisions for me have been made. On the board, I am creating a strong opposition to the corruption schemes operating in Ukrzaliznytsia. These reforms are impossible without changes within the Production Facilitation Center. Upgrade of the Production Facilitation Center is a key prerequisite for modernization of the company," Balczun said.

He also announced that he has invited Paweł Jarczewski to head the Production Facilitation Center, describing him as one of the best managers in Europe.

"There will be internal investigations, reprimands, and dismissals. Even criminal cases," Balczun said, adding that 474 criminal proceedings have currently been opened at Ukrzaliznytsia, including 50 within the management apparatus and 100 within the Production Facilitation Center.

Jarczewski previously worked at the Polish transport company CTL Logistics SA, the Zakłady Azotowe Puławy chemical plant, and its parent company Grupa Azoty. Recently, he was a board member of International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA).
