The Antonov state enterprise, the only aircraft manufacturer in Ukraine and part of the Ukroboronprom state defense concern, has signed contracts for production of 43 aircraft. Ukroboronprom’s General Director Roman Romanov announced this to reporters, the UNIAN news agency reports.
"As of today, I can tell you that we are talking about 43 aircraft for all kinds of partners, with the exception of those contracts that were concluded before, especially with Saudi Arabia," said Romanov.
However, he did not disclose details of the contract, the countries with which they were signed, or the periods for which they were signed to journalists, citing agreements on non-disclosure of commercial details.
"We are talking about a minimum of 43 airplanes and three customer countries," said Romanov.
At the same time, according to him, according to the terms of the contract, Antonov received orders for production of AN-178, AN-158, and AN-74 aircraft.
In turn, present at the event Antonov’s acting President Mykhailo Hvozdev told reporters at the same event that Antonov is currently ready to produce about 24 aircraft per year, which will enable it to implement these contracts within a few years.
