The streets of the Transcarpathian village of Velyka Dobron, on which residents themselves laid asphalt last year, have survived the winter, and the road surface is in excellent condition. However, the road sections that were repaired by workers from the State Road Service (Ukravtodor) were badly damaged and full of potholes. This was reported by Mukachevo.net.
This year, residents of Velyka Dobron intend to continue laying asphalt on roads in the village with their own funds. They will collect the funds necessary for this purpose. "Seven streets in the village are still unpaved. The community is quietly raising funds. The money for repairing one street already exists," village head Ivan Popka said.
As reported, the villagers themselves repaired roads in the village with their own funds in early September last year. They laid 117 meters of asphalt in four days. The cost per square meter of road was only UAH 125.
