The Belgorod-Dnestrovsky seaport (Odesa region) has been leased to the private companies River Trans and BK Trans, with most of it leased to the latter. The companies will pay a rent of UAH 600,000 per month (UAH 200,000 by River Trans and UAH 400,000 by BK Trans), the Duma publication reports, citing the port’s former deputy head for financial and economic affairs Oleh Koval.
"For your information, Bugaz port station alone generates USD 250,000 per month, i.e. 10 times more," said Koval.
He added that a separate contract signed the port’s head Serhii Sechkin also transferred the port’s movable property - cranes, loaders, motor vehicles, etc. - to the lessees.
The State Property Fund has not yet disclosed details of the deal.
As reported, the volume of cargo transshipment at the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky seaport reduced by 7.9% to 615,000 tons in 2014, compared with 2013.
