The state-owned Berdiansk seaport handled 514,000 tons of cargo in the first quarter of 2016, which is 5% more than the target, the seaport announced on its Facebook page. It handled grain, minerals, construction materials, metal products, and coke products.

The seaport handled 238,000 tons of cargo in March, which is 35.9% more than the target for the month.

The seaport did not provide comparative data from the same period of last year, but it is known that it handled 910,000 tons (i.e. about 90% more) in January-March 2015.

The port handled 25 vessels in March 2016 and 57 in January-March 2016.

Currently, four vessels are being loaded at the port’s berths. The seaport is also preparing to receive 11 more vessels, including two coastal vessels, traveling to Mariupol with cargoes for metallurgical enterprises located in the city.
