A multilevel car park will open near the Boryspil airport’s terminal D toward the end of 2018. The airport’s Commercial Director Heorhii Zubko announced this on 17 August, the CFTS correspondent reports.
The car park will be built in two phases. "The car park will be divided into two phases… The first phase should be opened no later than the summer. It will be two-thirds of the total facility and it will have 1,019 parking spaces," said Zubko.
The capacity of the car park will increase to more than 2,000 parking spaces when the second phase is commissioned at the end of 2018. According to Hennadii Zubko, the second phase of the project may be revised because this is a huge number of parking spaces for the airport.
"There will most likely be a full-fledged bus station there. There will be aprons for buses on the first floor. There will also be office and shopping space. It will possibly be some kind of hotel complex. The areas will allow us to do this, and we are working on it," Zubko said.
As reported, the construction of the car park began in 2011 and continued until 2014, when it was suspended. The management of the airport is now trying to bring the project to its logical conclusion. It was previously reported that the multi-level car park at the Boryspil airport would be completed by the end of 2017.
