The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has transferred 339 state assets from the Ministry of Economic Development and 76 from the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Infrastructure, and the State Management Administration, and other agencies to the State Property Fund for privatization.

“We transferred an additional 76 state enterprises o the State Property Fund for privatization for privatization today. In total, 415 out of the 500 state enterprises that are scheduled to be transferred to the State Property Fund by the end of the year have already been transferred. If privatized, up to 6 UAH billion in budget revenues could be generated,” Prime Minister Oleksii Honcharuk said. According to him, the State Property Fund should now sell these assets transparently and at the best possible prices.

The list of assets that were transferred to the State Property Fund for privatization includes 28 previously controlled by the Ministry of Infrastructure. The most significant among them are PJSC Transsvyaz Electrical Engineering Plant (Kharkiv), the Skadovsk Commercial Seaport, the Ust-Danube Commercial Seaport, and the Ukraeroproekt State Civil Aviation Design and Technological Research Institute.

Also on the list are the Ukrtanker state shipping company, the Kherson Avia state airline, the Dnipropetrovsk Rail Transport Certification Agency, the Dnipropetrovskavtotransservis state enterprise, the Black Sea-Azov Sea Route Administration, and the Ukrspetsooborudovanie state enterprise.

In addition to these assets, which were controlled by the Ministry of Infrastructure, the list also includes warehouses, shops, non-residential premises, and others.

As reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers optimized the list of state assets of strategic importance to the Ukrainian economy and national security on November 20. Four more assets, including the Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (JSC Ukrzaliznytsia), were added to the existing list of 321 enterprises. According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the law does not currently prohibit privatization of the enterprises that are included on the list of state-owned assets of strategic importance to the economy and national security.

The parliament adopted the draft law No. 1054-1, which abolished the list of state-owned companies not subject to privatization, including Ukrzaliznytsia and the Ukrposhta postal company, on October 2. According to Ukrzaliznytsia, the law lifted the ban on privatization of more than 60 rail transport enterprises and infrastructure, which became part of the Ukrzaliznytsia joint-stock company as a result of its reorganization in late 2017.
