The Czech Airlines (Czech Republic) launched new regular flights on the Kiev-Kosice-Prague (Slovakia) route on May 19. The airline’s Director of Sales and Marketing Jan Toth announced this during the presentation of the flight in Kiev, the Interfax Ukraine news agency reports.

"We see potential for business between Ukraine and Eastern Slovakia, and this is what prompted us to launch the flights," he said.

According to Toth, the company expects planes to be 85% full. An Airbus A319 aircraft will be operated on the route.

The flight will depart from Kiev on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 04:10 and return at 23:55.

Passengers will also have the opportunity to travel to Prague on this flight. "Passengers traveling from Kiev to Prague or in the opposite direction will not have to leave the aircraft during the stopover in Kosice. After a short, half-hour stopover, the second leg of the flight will continue from Kosice to Prague or in the opposite direction to Kiev," states the press release distributed during the presentation.

The press release also states that the flights OK916 and OK917 between Prague and Kiev will be replaced by the flights OK976/OK977 Prague-Kosice-Kiev/Kiev-Kosice-Prague.

The cost of a one-way ticket from Kiev to Kosice is UAH 1,875 (including all taxes) and the cost of a roundtrip ticket is UAH 3,506 (including all taxes). The cost of one-way tickets to Prague starts at UAH 2,741 (including all taxes) and the cost of roundtrip tickets are up to UAH 5,361 (including all taxes).

Asked about the airline’s plans to launch other routes from Kiev, Toth said that the company did not have concrete plans for this year.
