China Pacific Construction Group (CPCG), which conducted the preliminary feasibility study for extension of Kyiv’s fourth subway line to the Troeschyna residential district, expects the Chinese government to provide financial support for implementation of this and other projects in Ukraine.

Guo Yang, the head of CPCG’s representative office in Ukraine, announced this at the Third Ukraine Silk Road Forum, the CFTS correspondent reports.

“All the political conditions for implementation of this project exist today. Since the Chinese government supports the One Belt, One Road initiative, we expect China to provide a state loan for this project,” he said.

According to Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Viktor Dovhan, the preliminary estimate of the cost of construction of the fourth subway line in Kyiv is USD 2.5-3 billion, and this project cannot be implemented without external investments.

According to Guo, CPCG is also interested in other projects in Ukraine, particularly construction of subways in Kharkiv and Dnipro.

As the CFTS reported earlier, Kyiv has already received a preliminary feasibility study for construction of the Podil-Vyhurovska subway line from China Railway International Group. China Pacific Construction Group is part of a consortium with China Railway International Group.
