DP World, one of the world's largest port operators, will deliver Ukrainian grain to the Romanian port of Constanta.

The CFTS portal reported this, citing the Rail Insider publication.

The newly authorized terminal in Dornesti will be used to improve exports to the port of Constanta by rail.

The new rail service, which may start soon, will connect Vadul Siret in Ukraine with the company's hub terminal in the port of Constanta via Dorneşti. According to the report, the latter was quickly converted into an operational terminal by DP World to ease congestion in Constanta and facilitate the company's multimodal expansion in Romania.

According to DP World Romania’s CEO Cosmin Carstea, the new rail service can perform up to five round trips per week and the trains can transport up to 50 containers at a time.
