The general contractor resumed dredging work at the Odessa seaport on 2 October as part of construction of the seaport’s berth No. 1-z, which had been suspended in June 2013. This became possible after the relevant permits were obtained from the Environment Ministry and the State Architecture and Construction Inspectorate, the press service of the seaport said.

The administration of the Odessa seaport concluded an agreement on performance of the final part of work involving construction of the berth No. 1-z in June 2015. Completion of the construction work is scheduled for 2016. The design capacity of the complex is 4 million tons of cargo per year.

After its commissioning, the berth is expected to generate additional income of up to UAH 54 million per year from port charges and annual revenues of up to UAH 31.8 million into budgets at various levels.
