The Ukrzaliznytsia public railway company expects the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to finance purchase of 3,600 freight cars for the company in 2017. Ukrzaliznytsia’s board member Ireneusz Wasilewski announced this in an interview to the Magistral publication.
"Funds from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development are expected to be used to purchase nearly 3,600 wagons next year. In general, we plan to replenish our fleet with 6,600 gondola cars in 2017," Wasilewski said.
Ukrzaliznytsia’s acting director for freight transportation Yurii Merkulov recently announced plans to purchase 6,300 new gondola cars next year.
