The El Al airline company expects to transport between 135,000 and 140,000 passengers on the Kiev-Tel Aviv route in 2015, including clients of its new low-cost subsidiary UP.

"We plan to finish this year with an increase of about 10%. Speaking of absolute numbers, it will be about 76,000 passengers by the end of the year. The booking dynamics is positive," El Al’s general representative in Ukraine Oleg Maksimov said at a press conference on Monday, the CFTS correspondent reports.

He added that the airline company received a new Boeing 737-900 aircraft in October this year and received another one last week.

"Four more are expected to be delivered in 2014 and two more in early 2015,” said Maksimov.

The El Al airline company founded UP in November 2013. UP will operate budget flights from Israel to five destinations in Europe, namely Kiev, Berlin, Budapest, Prague, and Larnaca, from March 30, 2014. The total number of flights per week will be 50.

El Al Israel Airlines was founded in 1948 as the national airline of Israel. Headquartered in Tel Aviv, it has the reputation of being one of the safest airline companies in the world. It operates flights to countries in Asia, Africa, North America, Europe, and the Middle East.

El Al currently has a fleet of 41 aircraft, including the latest Boeing 737-900ER. The company flies 4.2 million passengers to 38 direct destinations per year. El Al has been operating flights between Ukraine and Israel since 1993. The airline company’s official office in Ukraine opened in 2001. It operates flights to Tel Aviv from Kiev (the Boryspil airport’s Terminal D) five times a week.
