Import of buses into Ukraine almost doubled to 88 with a total customs value of USD 7.3 million in January compared with January last year. In total, 9,219 vehicles were imported in the first month of this year, the Ukravtoprom association of Ukrainian motor vehicle manufacturers announced.
The buses were imported mostly from Belarus (58) and Germany (18).
The average customs values were USD 119,000 for a bus imported from Belarusian and USD 12,000 for a bus imported from Germany (probably a second-hand bus).
More than 80% of the 185 buses that underwent initial registration in January were foreign (mostly Belarusian-made MAZ buses).
As reported, sales of new buses in Ukraine doubled to 1,293 in 2016, compared with 2015.
