The Ministry of Interior Affairs plans to acquire 13 Ukrainian-made aircraft over a period of five years, the CFTS portal reports, citing the Interfax Ukraine news agency.

The estimated value of the relevant contract is USD 450 million.

Minister of Interior Affairs Arsen Avakov announced this during a working visit to the Kharkiv aircraft plant.

The Ministry of Interior Affairs is considering the possibility of purchasing Ukrainian aircraft for the needs of the National Guard and the State Emergency Service.

According to the minister, the relevant program, which will be implemented over the next five years, provides for purchase of An-74, An-32p, and An-178 aircraft.

“We have purchased the first two aircraft from the Kharkiv aircraft plant… We are considering the possibility of signing the relevant documents for these aircraft in the next 1.5-2 months and beginning financing this program in the spring. However, this this is still preliminary information," said Avakov.

The ministry plans to buy two An-74 TK-200 aircraft worth about USD 30 million each for the needs of the National Guard.

Ten An-178 and one An-32p aircraft will be purchased for the State Emergency Service.

However, the contract has not yet been signed and the program is currently being discussed with the Ukroboronprom state defense concern.

As the CFTS portal reported earlier, the Ministry of Interior Affairs recently received the first two helicopters under a contract with the Airbus Helicopters company (France). The Ministry of Interior Affairs signed a contract with Airbus Helicopters for purchase of 55 helicopters of the models H225, H145, and H125 on July 14.
