The Interpipe pipe and wheel holding company is expanding the supply of railway products to the North American region. In particular, the company has signed a contract for supply of wheels for subway trains in Sacramento.

Interpipe announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

"North America is another strategic destination for our sales. Trains in the Sacramento subway will now run on Interpipe NTRP wheels," the company said in a statement.

According to the statement, the complexity of the order was that the wheels were produced to two standards (the European EN and American AAR standards) simultaneously.

The development of this product began four years ago as part of a joint project with the German companies Bochumer Verein Verkehrstechnik and Siemens, the statement said.

"Inspector BVV accepted a pilot batch in Ukraine. Then, Interpipe products additionally passed a rigorous audit directly in Germany, at the factories of Siemens concern, which produces rolling stock for the Sacramento subway," Interpipe added.

As the CFTS reported previously, Interpipe has signed a long-term contract for supply of freight wheelsets to INVEHO UFO, one of the largest railcar manufacturing and repair companies in France, in early March this year.
