The Kharkiv airport has welcomed its one-millionth passenger of 2019, who is a 15-year-old on a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Kharkiv.
The airport announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.
Representatives of the airport and the airline congratulated the one-millionth passenger and presented him with gifts. Turkish Airlines presented him with free flight tickets for three people and the right to free services in the airport’s VIP terminal while the airport presented him with a certificate for UAH 50,000.
As reported earlier, the Kharkiv airport set a monthly record for passenger traffic in August, when it handled 140,400 passengers, which is 48% more than the number of passengers it handled in the corresponding month of 2018.
The Kharkiv airport handled 823,700 passengers in the period of January-August. This represents an increase of 29% compared with 2018.
