Six more subway cars donated by Warsaw (Poland) recently arrived in Kyiv. The Kyiv subway has received 18 subway cars, and 42 more are scheduled to be delivered by the end of this year.

Kyivskyi Metropliten, the municipal company that operates the Kyiv subway, announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

"At present, the company's specialists are gradually inspecting and testing the delivered subway cars, particularly the mechanical aspect. Even though subway cars of the series 81-717 are also operating on Kyiv subway lines, there are several differences that need to be considered when inspecting and checking all the equipment," Kyivskyi Metropliten’s head Viktor Brahinskyi said.

According to him, Kyivskyi Metropliten’s inventory rolling stock consists of 821 subway cars of various models and years of manufacture, including 656 Soviet-made subway cars.

As the CFTS portal reported, the Warsaw Metro is gradually transferring 60 subway cars of the 81–717 series to the Kyiv subway. The first batch of six subway cars arrived in Kyiv at the end of April, and six additional subway cars arrived in June. All the subway cars are scheduled to be delivered by the end of this year.
