The Lemtrans railway operator has acquired 172 new Ukrainian-made gondola cars from the OTP Leasing limited liability company under a financial leasing agreement. The deal is worth more than UAH 150 million, Lemtrans announced.
"We are considering various opportunities for acquisition of rolling stock on the market," said Lemtrans’ General Director Volodymyr Mezentsev. "We are impressed by the fact that OTP Leasing seeks to build relationships with customers on the basis of equal partnership and mutually beneficial terms. Acquiring such a reliable partner as OTP Leasing is a significant contribution to the implementation of our company's strategy."
According to OTP Leasing’s First Deputy General Director Yanina Ponomariova, the deal with Lemtrans is the first within the framework of the relaunch of the program for financing rolling stock.
"In addition to gondola cars, the program provides for financing grain carriers, which is very important today," she said.
The Lemtrans limited liability company is the largest private freight forwarding company in Ukraine. It organizes transportation of goods with its own rolling stock, provides freight-forwarding services, provides informational support for freight transportation, and repairs rolling stock. The SCM Group owns 100% of the shares in Lemtrans.
