The first trolleybus to be assembled locally in Vinnytsia began operation on May 17.
This was announced by Vinnytsia’s Mayor Serhii Morhunov, the CFTS portal reports.
“When technicians at a Vinnytsia-based transport company upgraded the first VinWay wagon in 2015, we could not have thought that assembly of a trolleybus would be the OTK team’s next ambitious project,” the mayor said.
According to him, experts at the Vinnytsia municipal transport company used mainly equipment produced locally. The trolleybus is equipped with a Ukrainian electronic control system and a Vinnytsia-made information management system. The trolleybus is capable of autonomous operation over a distance of 5 kilometers, its cabin is equipped with a ventilation system, and it was assembled from innovative parts that will simplify its operation and increase safety. In addition, the new trolleybus consumes almost 30% less electricity than the old generation of trolleybuses.
