The Mykolaiv seaport increased cargo handling by 24% to 29.2 million tons in 2018, compared with 2017, the CFTS portal reports.
According to the Ukrainian Seaports Authority, last year the port increased transshipment of export cargoes by 37% to 22 million tons, import cargoes by 6% to 5.9 million tons, and coastal cargoes 1.7-fold to 988,500 tons in 2018. Transshipment of transit cargoes reduced more than five-fold to 232,300 tons.
The seaport’s enterprises increased transshipment of liquid bulk cargoes by 6% to 2.98 million tons, dry bulk cargoes by 28% to 23.25 million tons, and unitized cargoes by 17% to 2.98 million tons in 2018.
In particular, transshipment of grain cargoes increased by 44% to 13.175 million tons. Transshipment of chemical goods and mineral fertilizers increased 3.3-fold to 475,000 tons.
As reported earlier, the Mykolaiv seaport increased cargo handling by 21.44% to 25.9 million tons in January-November 2018, compared with January-November 2017.
The Mykolaiv seaport increased cargo handling by 5% to 23.535 million tons in 2017.
