Oleksandr Kubrakov has been declared as the winner of the competition for the vacant position of director of the State Road Agency (Ukravtodor).

The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers, which appointed Kubrakov to this position on November 15, announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers, Kubrakov took up the position one day after his appointment.

“We plan to bring the condition of 24,000 kilometers of roads of national importance up to the required standard over the next five years. We have the same ambitious plans for restoration of local roads. To achieve all this, we need an honest and professional person in the management of Ukravtodor. Mr. Kubrakov has already proven himself to be a professional during the construction of the Zaporizhia-Mariupol highway,” Ukraine’s Prime Minister Oleksii Honcharuk said while commenting on the appointment of Kubrakov.

Honcharuk added that the new head of Ukravtodor is the author of a number of draft laws on restoration of road infrastructure and improvement of road safety.

According to Kubrakov, his top priority is complete renewal of the management staff of regional road agencies and the management of SJSC Automobile Roads of Ukraine. He also plans to review preparations for the winter season and prepare road rehabilitation plans for 2020.

Kubrakov is currently a member of the Ukrainian parliament. He was born on August 20, 1982.

As reported earlier, Oleh Fedorenko was appointed as the acting head of Ukravtodor in early October. Slawomir Nowak was the head of Ukravtodor until October 1.
