The Odesa airline plans to launch flights to the Odesa region’s district centers in the near future. The company’s head Vadym Hromov announced this to the Dumska publication, the CFTS portal reports.
According to him, the Odesa airline is currently negotiating with the regional authorities and representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure on opening the Izmail airport, which has been out of operation for nine years, for use by local air carriers.
According to Hromov, the concrete runway at the Izmail airport is in a satisfactory condition. It has a length of 1,800 meters.
The regional council should determine the fate of this facility in the near future.
In addition, the company intends to revive air ambulance for delivering physicians to remote locations in the region if necessary.
LLC Odesa Airline Company is the only airline operating in the region. It is based at the Gidroport suburban sports airfield and has several aircraft in its fleet. It engages in training of pilots for general aviation, operation of flights, and repair of aircraft and aircraft engines.
Hromov, an Odesa-based aviator, previously announced plans to launch flights from Odesa to Kamianets-Podilskyi, using An-2 aircraft.
