The Odesa international airport served its millionth passenger of 2016 on Monday, 19 December. According to information from the airport, the millionth passenger was Odesa resident Pavlo E., who flew to Istanbul on a Ukraine International Airlines flight.

The airline presented the passenger with two tickets to Europe and upgraded him to business class. The airport presented the passenger with a certificate that permits him to use its business hall during a future trip.

As reported, the airport handled 92,200 passengers in October, which was 22.4% more than it handled in the same period last year and the highest figure for October since 1991.

Passenger traffic through the airport increased by 9.8% in 2015, but it handled fewer than 1 million passengers.
