The Odesa seaport has started handling project cargo. The specialized vessel HHL KOBE moored at the port’s berth No. 1-k on 17 May to be loaded with four gantry cranes on pneumatic wheels (RTG), which will be sent to Egypt (the Damietta port). This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Port Authority.
The HPC-Ukraine stevedoring company operates at the berth No. 1-k.
The cranes will be loaded onto the vessel in assembled form. The total weight of the load will be 552 tons. The estimated time of the loading operations is about four days.
The cranes were manufactured by PJSC Zaporizhkran, which specializes in production of overhead gantry cranes and special-purpose cranes. The Finnish multinational company Konecranes, a global leader in the industry, became the main shareholder of Zaporozhkran in August 2005.
