The Odesa port authority has announced that it is actively combating trucks that exceed the established weight limit.
In particular, the Odesa port authority said that six trucks exceeding the weight limit have been denied access to the Odesa seaport. In addition, a truck suspected of exceeding the permissible dimension and weight limits was stopped at the exit from the seaport on 29 July. Information about this truck was sent to the transport safety agency to take the appropriate action.
A directive by Ukraine’s deputy minister of infrastructure dated 28 July 2016 instructs Ukrainian seaports to ban entry/exit of vehicles that exceed the weight limit.
As the CFTS reported, the Odesa seaport was the first port to reach agreement with the transport safety agency on the procedure for exercising dimension and weight control of overloaded vehicles.
