Stevedoring companies engaging in cargo handling at the Odesa seaport completely stopped importation of iron-ore concentrate and its subsequent transshipment onto vessels in January, the press service of the seaport said in a statement.
All cargoes of iron-ore concentrate are being have been redirected to other ports specializing in bulk cargo and geographically located outside the city.
The last ton of iron-ore concentrate at the Odesa seaport was transshipped onto the Can Yucel vessel in mid-August 2015.
"The Odesa Port Administration fully endorses the emerging specialization of ports in the Odesa region and it is doing everything it can to facilitate development of capacities for transition to environmentally friendly goods," the statement said.
