The Odesa seaport increased cargo transshipment by 4.1% to 25.586 million tons in 2015, compared with the previous year, according to data from the Administration of Seaports of Ukraine (ASU).
The volume of transshipment of liquid bulk cargo through the port reduced by 23.2% to 3.324 million tons in 2015, compared with 2014. The volume of transshipment of petroleum products reduced by 37.1% to 1.992 million tons, the volume of transshipment of chemical goods reduced by 2.8% to 870,000 tons, and the volume of transshipment of oil increased by 64.3% to 116,000 tons.
Transshipment of dry cargo increased by 9.2% to 10.508 million tons in 2015, compared with 2014: transshipment of grain increased by 29.3% to 8.615 million tons, transshipment of construction materials increased 3.8-fold to 247,000, and transshipment of ore reduced by 73.6% to 469,000 tons.
The volume of transshipment of unitized cargo through the seaport increased by 10.6% to 11.754 million tons in 2015, compared with 2014. This included 5.748 million tons of rolled metals (an increase of 33.4%), 123,000 tons of ferrous metal scrap (an increase of 0.5%), and 486,000 tons of pig iron (none in 2014).
The volume of container transshipment through the port was 5.268 million tons (a reduction of 11.9%) or 248,500 in unit terms (a reduction of 6.7%), or 372,300 TEU (a reduction of 10.2%).
