Oleksii Kochanov, who previously headed the Odessa International Airport limited liability company (which is performing the reconstruction of the Odessa airport), has been appointed as the acting general director of the Boryspil international airport (Kiev). The new head of the Boryspil airport was presented by Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Kozak, a CFTS correspondent reports.

Born in 1972, Kochanov previously worked in the State Aviation Administration, the AeroSvit airline company, and other companies.

The minister thanked the airport’s former general director Anton Volov for his work. As reported, it was announced yesterday that Volov is moving to the Ministry of Infrastructure.

The Boryspil international airport is a state-owned enterprise that accounts for 65% of the passenger traffic in the country. The airport’s net profit reduced by 30% to UAH 410 million in 2012, compared with 2011. The base carrier of the airport is Ukraine International Airlines. The airport reported a net loss of UAH 7.1 million for the first half of this year, although its financial plan provides for a net profit of UAH 84 million in the entire year.
