Passenger traffic through Ukrainian airports increased by 26% to 8.957 million in the period of January-June 2018, compared with the corresponding period of 2017, the CFTS reports.
According to the State Aviation Service, Ukrainian airports handled 7.943 million international passengers in the first half of this year. This represents a 27.1% increase compared with the first half of 2017, the State Aviation Service said.
As the CFTS portal reported, the number of passengers transported by Ukrainian airlines increased by 18.7% during this period. The largest numbers of passengers were on international flights.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers has decided to allocate UAH 253 million for construction of a runway at the Odesa airport. "The growth of air transport by almost 30% per year for the third consecutive year requires modernization of airports, and we are working on it," Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian said, commenting on the cabinet of Ministers’ decision.
