The state-owned Yuzhny merchant seaport (state stewedoring company) has handled 13.7 million tons of cargo since the beginning of 2019, of which 8.7 million tons or 64.1% is export cargo (ore, cast iron, grain, and their byproducts). Imports of coking coal totaled 1.472 million tons or 65.9% of the total volume of imported goods handled by the seaport.

This was reported by the CFTS portal, citing information from the Yuzhny seaport.

The Yuzhny seaport handled 1.320 million tons of cargo in November. This exceeded the seaport’s target by 320,000 tons or 32% and exceeded the volume it handled in the same period of 2018 by 12%.

The Yuzhny seaport handled 808,000 tons of export cargo, 301,000 tons of import cargo, and 211,000 tons of transit cargo in November. It received 19, 238 gondola cars and processed 18 vessels, including 11 Capesize vessels during the month.

The largest volumes of cargoes handled by the state-owned seaport last month were ores (776,000 tons). It also handled 153,000 tons of imported coking coal and 142,000 tons of thermal coal for the Centrenergo power company and 32,000 tons of grain and grain byproducts.

As the CFTS portal reported previously, the Yuzhny seaport had handled 11.68 million tons of cargo and achieved its annual target 77 days ahead of schedule by the middle of October this year.
