President Petro Poroshenko of Ukraine approved the National Security and Defense Council’s decision to impose sanctions on persons involved in the annexation of the Crimea and the aggression in the Donbass on 16 September.
The companies affected by the sanctions include the Aeroflot airline. The airline faces "restrictions, partial or complete termination of transit of resources, flights, and transportation through the territory of Ukraine." the sanctions were imposed for one year.
The sanctions list also includes transport companies such as Ak Bars Aero, Borisfen-Avia, Russian Helicopters, the Helicopter Service Company, the VІM-AVIA airline company, Gazprom Avia, Donavia, Orenburg Airlines, Red Wings, Russian Airlines, Transaero, the Sevastopol Commercial Seaport, the United Aircraft Corporation, the First Freight Company in Ukraine, and others.
Poroshenko said that these restrictive measures affect more than 400 individuals and more than 90 legal entities based in Russia and other countries involved in the annexation of the Crimea and the aggression in the Donbass.
