The Ministry of Infrastructure has raised passenger fares on domestic trains, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
According to the ministry’s order No. 413 of June 19, 2013, ticket prices for sitting and couchette cars will increase by 10% for from October 1, 2013, and ticket prices for compartment cars will increase in two stages - by 10% in July and by 10% on October 1.
According to the order, ticket prices for first-, second-, and third-class cars on Intercity trains and second-class cars on Intercity+ trains will remain unchanged.
In addition, the document introduced the Night Express category of trains, for which ticket prices will be multiplied by a factor of 1.2.
The order was to come into effect on July 1, 2013, but not before its official publication.
