RegioJet, a private railway operator based in the Czech Republic, will launch its first train on the Prague - Košice - Chop route on 27 March.

The CFTS portal reported this, citing the Czech publication Zdopravy.

The first train will depart from Prague at 21:38, depart from Košice at 06:38, and arrive in Chop at 10:35 (Kyiv time).

In the opposite direction, the first train will depart from Chop at 17:35 (Kyiv time), depart from Košice at 20:14, and arrive in Prague at 05:57 on Thursday, 28 March.

The train will run every day.

The train will have both sleeping and sitting cars. The ticket price includes breakfast and dinner.

According to the report, the train will initially operate with three cars.

Tickets for the train are already on sale on the Czech operator's website.

In February this year, it was announced that RegioJet had signed a contract with the Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) to operate trains on the Prague - Košice - Chop route from March. At the end of February, the Czech operator tested a train on the Košice - Chop route.

In addition, last year, RegioJet applied to the Polish railway authorities for a license to operate night trains between Przemyśl and Hanover.
