The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has announced a successful operation to destroy the Ivanovets missile corvette of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
The operation was carried out on the night of 31 January to 1 February, the CFTS portal reports, citing the intelligence directorate. The missile corvette was on the roadstead of Lake Donuzlav at the time.
"The support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the United24 platform made the operation possible... As a result of a series of direct hits to the hull, the Russian ship suffered damage incompatible with further movement - the Ivanovets rolled to the stern and sank," the intelligence directorate said in a statement accompanied by a video.
According to the statement, the missile corvette costs USD 60-70 million.
According to preliminary information, a Russian search and rescue operation on the Donuzlav was unsuccessful.
