The Russian occupiers are creating an Azov Naval District as part of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Completion of the relevant organizational measures and relocation of the fleet's ships is scheduled for 1 July.
The Center for National Resistance announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.
The headquarters is being created in Mariupol.
The Russian occupiers plan to man the so-called Azov Navy with vessels from the Russian Navy’s Black Sea Fleet and Caspian Flotilla.
In total, the Azov Navy will consist of eight warships and boats, as well as 16 support vessels. They include the small missile ships Cyclone, Askold (currently undergoing sea trials), and Amur (under construction), as well as the Kovrovets minesweeper and other ships.
The three small missile ships are capable of firing a total of 24 Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles.
