The Kherson shipyard, which is owned by the Smart Maritime Group (SMG), the shipbuilding division of the Smart Holding group, has completed the slipway repair of the Omskiy 121 cargo motor ship, the CFTS portal reports, citing information from the company.

"Work was performed on the hull of the vessel, including replacement of about 40 tons of metal, inspection of its rudder propeller unit, cleaning, and painting. The cargo ship has already been launched, and it will be delivered to the customer next week," SMG said.

According to SMG’s General Director Vasyl Fedin, it is important and pleasant that Turkish customers highly appreciate the quality of the Ukrainian company’s work and are they are committed to cooperation with the company despite the fact that Turkish shipyards are serious competitors to Ukrainian shipyards.

SMG unites the Mykolaiv and Kherson shipyards, which were created on the basis of JSC Black Sea Shipyard and JSC Kherson Shipyard. It manages the Mykolaiv engineering plant.

As the CFTS portal reported earlier, the Kherson shipyard has purchased 90 tons of steel structures for construction of the Chelsea bulk carrier.
