The State Aviation Service of Ukraine has introduced special requirements for operation of transit flights from Russia through Ukrainian airspace by some Russian airlines, the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure announced.
The special requirements apply to the airlines Transaero and Aeroflot, which fly from Russia to Bulgaria, Israel, Turkey, Egypt, and Greece through Ukrainian airspace.
"These airlines can fly through Ukraine’s airspace only by obtaining permission for each individual flight from the State Aviation Service of Ukraine," the press service said in a statement.
The State Aviation Service said it was changing the procedures for operating transit flights through Ukraine for airlines that violate the rules for performing international flights in the closed airspace over the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the closed Simferopol airport.
