Serhii Tihipko's TAS Group will become the majority owner of TransAnt GmbH, which develops innovative freight cars, through T.A.S. Overseas Investments Limited, a Cyprus-based company controlled by the TAS Group.

On 22 February, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine granted the group permission to acquire over 50% of the authorized capital of the Austrian company, the CFTS portal reports, citing the publication Rail.Insider.

TransAnt specializes in the development of innovative railcars. A year ago, the TAS Group acquired over 40% of the shares in the company. The other shareholders are the steel company Voestalpine and the freight division of Austrian Federal Railways (OBB Rail Cargo Group).

In the summer of 2023, TransAnt announced the production of the first intermodal wagons commissioned by the Eurowagon railway wagon leasing company (Poland). In the fall, the Dniprovahonmash railcar manufacturing plant (Dniprovahonmash JSC), in cooperation with Austrian partners, delivered the first MultiBox wagons intended for operation on the railways of the European Union.
