The State Customs Service has launched the operation of a scanner for freight vehicles and containers at the Korczowa-Krakovets border crossing.
The State Customs Service announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.
Vehicles are scanned in a specially equipped enclosure at the border crossing and data from the scanning system are transmitted to the central office of the State Customs Service in electronic form.
Cargo inspection time is reduced 10-fold because the scanning is performed without the physical involvement of customs officials.
Seven systems for scanning trucks and containers are currently in test operation at the Yahodyn, Krakovets, Rava-Russka, Shehyni, Uzhhorod, Chop, and Porubnyi border crossings.
As the CFTS portal reported previously, the first scanner for large-capacity vehicles has already been launched at the Zakarpattia customs. The Volyn and Chernivtsi customs are also preparing to launch such systems.
As reported earlier, the Krakovets crossing on the Ukrainian-Polish border will be rebuilt.
