Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) has asked the Cabinet of Ministers to provide it a stabilization loan of USD 100 million, a government source has told the Center for Transport Strategies.
According to the source, the carrier wrote the relevant letter to the Ministry of Infrastructure. In the letter, it also describes the difficult situation in the aviation industry and proposes measures to support the industry.
The UIA and the Ministry of Infrastructure have not yet confirmed or denied this information.
The CFTS portal predicted difficult times for the largest airline in Ukraine in the article entitled “The Prospects of UIA: why the Carrier Risks the Same Fate as AeroSvit," which was published in July.
