Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) received the second new Boeing 737-800 since the beginning of this year on April 3. The airliner arrived at the Boryspil airport from the Boeing plant in Seattle at 23:00, after stopping for refueling at the Reykjavik airport, avianews.com reports.

The aircraft, which has been assigned the registration number UR-UIB, has 186 seats. According to UIA, the new airliner will perform its first commercial flight in early April.

According to the latest plans for replenishment its aircraft fleet, UIA expects to receive another new Boeing 737-800 from the Boeing plant, as well as three Boeing 777-200ER and two Embraer 195 aircraft from the secondary market, this year.

The airline has now added three Boeing 737-800s (two of which came from the Boeing factory) and one Boeing 777-200ER to its fleet this year.

As reported, the photograph of another Boeing 777 intended for UIA recently appeared in the social networks. This aircraft was previously owned by a Spanish charter airline.

UIA’s fleet now consists of 42 aircraft of various modifications, including 29 medium-haul Boeing 737 NG with an average age of 9 years. The average age of UIA’s fleet is 11.3 years.
