Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) transported 576,540 passengers in August 2015, which is the highest number of passengers the airline has ever transported in a single month. UIA’s supervisory board chairman and co-owner Aron Mayberg announced this on his Facebook page.

In total, UIA transported 3.190 million passengers in the first eight months of 2015, which is also a record number of passengers for such a period, said Mayberg.

According to him, UIA facilitates an average of 1,500 connect flights per day at the Boryspil airport, Ukraine’s largest airport.

In addition, Mayberg said that the airline transported 235,461 transit passengers in July and 251,641 in August.

As reported earlier, the Boryspil airport handled 4.8 million passengers in the period of January-August this year. Thus, UIA accounts for 66% of passenger traffic.
