Ukraine International Airlines is now refunding the full prices of tickets, minus service fees, to passengers who are denied visas, avianews.com reports, citing information from the air carrier.

Passengers should apply for ticket refunds at the place of purchase of their tickets at least three days before the departure of their flights and provide copies of documents confirming denial of visa.

Such a document could be an official certificate from an embassy or a stamp in a passport confirming reception of documents.

"The rule for refunding the full cost of a ticket in case of denial of visa applies on a permanent basis, regardless of the place of registration and payment method, and it applies to all flight routes from Ukraine to destinations that require visas," the UIA said.

In addition, refund is approved if a visa to the final destination of the flight, a transit country, or a stopover is denied. This means that if a passenger obtains a Belgian visa but buys a ticket to Germany, there will be no forced return under the new rules.
