The Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure and the State Aviation Service approved this year’s working plan for liberalization of air travel between Ukraine and the European Union on March 22.

According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, the State Aviation Service will appeal to the European Union’s aviation authorities to lift the restrictions on regular flights between the European Union.

Some countries will be asked to abolish their restrictions on the number of destinations to which flights can be operated and others will be asked to lift their restrictions on the number of airlines, the number of flights, and so on.

As reported, the Spanish ambassador to Ukraine recently said that his country was ready to sign the Common Aviation Area agreement (Open Skies agreement) between Ukraine and the European Union Union immediately if the Gibraltar airport was excluded from the document.
