Ukrainian airline companies transported 8.1 million passengers in 2013, which corresponds to the number they transported in 2012, the Interfax Ukraine news agency reports, citing the State Aviation Service.

Eight airline companies performed regular domestic passenger traffic in 2013, including the new airline company Yanair. They provided air services to 14 cities in Ukraine.

Passenger transportation on regular domestic flights reduced by 5.8% to 1.17 million due to the redistribution of the passenger traffic of the AeroSvit airline company, which carried domestic passengers on its international flights, as well as due to the development of high-speed rail links between cities in the country.

Thirty-three Ukrainian airline companies operated on the passenger transport market in 2013, including the UIA (+69.5%), Wizz Air Ukraine (+58.1%), UTair Ukraine (2.3-fold increase), and Windrose (-15.6%).

The average Passenger Load Factor on regular international flights increased by 3.1 percentage points to 77.9% compared with the previous year.
