The Ukrposhta postal company and AliExpress (Cainiao Network, Alibaba Group) have launched charter cargo flights to Ukraine, which will be operated twice a week.
Ukrposhta’s head Ihor Smelianskyi announced this on his Facebook page, the CFTS portal reports.
“We understand that everyone wants their parcels quickly and immediately. Therefore, to shorten the delivery time, Ukrposhta and AliExpress (Cainiao Network, Alibaba Group) have launched charter cargo flights to Ukraine twice a week, which will make it possible to deliver parcels from China in 14-20 days maximum (the AliExpress Saver Shipping and Cainiao Super Economy options)," Smelianskyi said.
The head of Ukrposhta added that parcels would undergo customs clearance and sorting in Lviv before being delivered to customers all over the country. “Cargo planes carrying parcels from China will fly to Europe (thanks to the Post of Latvia and other partner post offices) and from Europe on an An-26 aircraft belonging to the Eleron airline to Lviv, where the parcels will instantly undergo customs clearance and sorting before going to 15 million mailboxes around the country. The first such aircraft will bring 4.1 tons of parcels tomorrow," he said.
According to Ukrposhta, the parcels will be delivered in a non-contact mode and all AliExpress orders worth up to USD 2 will be delivered to mailboxes. For items that are more expensive, there will be the option of home delivery by a courier or postal worker.
As the CFTS portal reported earlier, Ukrposhta has organized a charter flight to Riga, using a plane painted in a livery with a shark mouth.
