The Ukrposhta postal company has launched an energy rehabilitation project aimed at creating a system for optimal consumption of energy resources.
According to the company, the project is divided into three phases. During the first phase, engineers will search for optimal solutions for modernization of real estate and then calculate how much technical solutions will cost. The third phase will involve resource mobilization and implementation of the project.
The first phase of the project is expected to be implemented in the period of March-June 2017. The project became possible because of support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which selected and funded the work of the European technical consultants that will work as part of a joint working group. The working group is headed by Dmytro Sennichenko, the director for management of real estate at Ukrposhta.
The Italian company D'Appolonia, which has experience working with commercial industrial buildings, has been selected as a consultant.
Ukrposhta currently has a portfolio of real estate with an area of 1.3 million square meters. Assets are 80% depreciated and their maintenance cost is about UAH 320 million per year.
